Get in touch
Sailing Atelier is a small, hands-on project. Whether you have a question, a suggestion, or you simply want to talk through something you found on board, you are always welcome to reach out. Every message is read by a person, and usually answered by one within a day or two.

Founder
I started Sailing Atelier after watching hard-won knowledge from fellow owners slip away into endless group chats. My aim is simple: to give that collective experience a lasting home, so the next owner facing the same problem finds an answer instead of a blank page. If there is anything I can help with, please do get in touch directly.

What stays in the club
Here is who sees what members write, and what stays behind the door.
- Who can read what members write
- Only members: owners and skippers, each approved by hand, and crew an owner has chosen to let read along. Discussions, solutions and comments are never public, and search engines cannot see them.
- What is open to everyone
- The harbour guide and the area guide. They hold facts about places: which chandlery stocks a part, how clearance works in a country. What members said about a supplier, and who said it, stays behind the door.
- Independent
- Sailing Atelier is run independently and is not affiliated with Oyster Yachts. When a member asks the AI assistant, short extracts are sent to our AI provider to write the answer, under contract and never used for training. The privacy policy has the details.
- Your name, your choice
- Posts carry the member's name, as they did in the WhatsApp group. If you would rather not be named, tell us and your posts are shown under a neutral label instead.
- Taking something down
- Write to privacy@sailingatelier.com and Alec handles it himself. Your name comes off whenever you ask, no reason needed. A post is removed too, unless other owners rely on it (a safety-critical answer, say); then it stays, without your name on it.
